Spring is Coming. Are You Prepared?
Who doesn’t want to get outside after long winter and spring months of being stuck inside? It’s nice to get outside and see the world come alive after the winter slumber. Just being outside changes my whole mental state of mind. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably started that long list of tasks of things to do around the house for Spring, especially since we are so far behind. Whether it’s pulling out the lawn furniture or washing the windows, there are a number of tasks you can tackle or enlist help to get you, and your home prepared.

Clean the gutters: remove any blockages and ensure that water can flow freely.

Wash walls, baseboards, and outlets: eliminating dust and accumulation of grim

Change your filters: helps to reduce dust and keeps your air flow moving

Check your roof shingles and your chimney: to ensure you don’t need to make any maintenance repairs

Wipe down all door handles and frames: helps to eliminate germs and dust

Wash exterior windows: removes any winter water build up

Check pipes for leaks: prevent larger problems from occurring

Check foundation vents and any concrete for cracks: cold winters can sometimes create cracks in your foundation

Pull out lawn furniture: wipe down and clean off for spring use

Test interior alarms: change any batteries and test to ensure all alarms are working

Move firewood: keep wood away from the house during dry months

Turn on the exterior water: make sure all sprinkler heads are not leaking and water is flowing freely

Service your AC Unit: turn on your unit to make sure it’s working properly

Check all your outdoor equipment: ensure that all your lawn equipment and yard tools are working properly

Dust all ceiling fans: remove the excess dust before you turn on the fan
